lib-web-cats – library web sites and catalogues

I have found a very useful site for researching which libraries around the world are using Spydus. Its lib-web-cats (library web sites and catalogs) and is a free directory of libraries throughout the world. It is part of Library Technology Guides site.

“The lib-web-cats directory is mainly used by the general public to find libraries and their catalogs on the Web, but it also serves as a tool for tracking automation systems.”

After doing an advanced search I’ve found 788 items where the library automation system used is Spydus. 311 listed just for Australia (this included all branches I think)
I will definately be exploring this in more detail once I finish my study next week!

Spydus Update

I’m pretty excited with the new OPAC coming soon with our upgrade at work. I have found a few sites already using it, and will list them on my SPYDUS page as I find them. Will be interesting to see how other Libraries develop their pages!!

Kadina Library

I see that the Kadina Community Library and Renmark/Paringa Libraries have gone live with Spydus recently. I have added them to my Spydus Page which you can access here.

Also added Kangaroo Island!

Links to their online catalogues:

Spydus Links

My library has been running Spydus (Integrated Library Management System) for a few months now. For easy access, Iv’e created a page that lists all the online catalogues for South Australian Spydus users.
I have also put all the Libraries onto a Google Map, which you can find here.

Let me know if I have missed anyone 🙂
