Althorp Commemorative Enamel Box

althorp-box.jpg

This commemorative trinket box was sold only at Diana: A Celebration exhibit and is no longer available. I purchased this from the Althorp gift shop when I visited there on the 1st anniversary of Diana’s death in August 1998.
This special edition collector’s piece has been hand-crafted in the finest English enamel’s tradition and is rimmed in silver. Its lid features the Temple at Althorp.
The inscription inside the lid reads “The very essence of compassion, of duty, of style, of beauty”. A quote from Earl Spencer’s tribute to his sister at Diana’s funeral.
The box is in beautiful, unblemished condition and would make a wonderful addition to any royalty collection. It celebrates a woman, who nearly 20 years after her passing, remains the People’s Princess.
Measuring approx 7cm x 5.5cm x 3cm in the orginal presentation box.
This photo does not do justice to this beautiful piece.
Estimated Value: $200
