lib-web-cats – library web sites and catalogues

I have found a very useful site for researching which libraries around the world are using Spydus. Its lib-web-cats (library web sites and catalogs) and is a free directory of libraries throughout the world. It is part of Library Technology Guides site.

“The lib-web-cats directory is mainly used by the general public to find libraries and their catalogs on the Web, but it also serves as a tool for tracking automation systems.”

After doing an advanced search I’ve found 788 items where the library automation system used is Spydus. 311 listed just for Australia (this included all branches I think)
I will definately be exploring this in more detail once I finish my study next week!

The Librarians on ABC

Are there any Librarians or Library workers left in OZ who don’t know that the show airs tomorrow night?
With all the talk it has generated, I wonder if it will live up to people’s expectations…
